Master the Possibilities Education Center strives to be on the cutting edge of life-long learning and assuch is a focal point of our active community. Located in the new Circle Square Commons Town Center, our exciting educational programs provide hundreds of opportunities throughout the year to learn and grow. Our outstanding faculty is involved in designing classes that build on our active adults' knowledge and experiences and stimulate and challenge them to become more engaged in education.

Dynamic Discussion Groups. Socrates Café and our Current Events discussion groups always fill up fast. If you want to be a part of the Socrates Café, participants must register and attend Socrates Café: What’s This All About on January 2, 2015 or May 2, 2015 in the afternoon. Click on the Social Sciences section of the winter catalog for details.

Expanded Learn and Go programs. Attend a variety of educational sessions followed by a trip to see more about the topic. Tour some of the area’s horse farms, an organic and blueberry farm, a wildlife rehabilitation center, and a national historic landmark. For more details see Lifestyle and Fun in the winter catalog.

Taste of Music Coffee House and Workshops. Join us on the third Thursday of the month for our new coffee house in the Master the Possibilities lobby from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Experience music of all types from blues to Florida songwriting to classical. Creative Saturdays. The third Saturday of each month comes alive with courses to help you discover or rediscover your creative self. Participate in one of several all-day immersion classes in the visual arts, theatre, music or writing. For details see the Arts and Humanities section of the catalog.

Expanded art classes. The winter schedule includes more than 100 art classes – a creative explosion! Artful Gifts, an outreach of Marion Cultural Alliance, is just around the corner from MTP in Circle Square Commons. We have integrated some of their faculty into our line-up of courses. If you aren’t sure where to begin, attend our free Art Demonstration Day on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join us on Tuesday, December 16th from 3:00pm-4:00pm in the Circle Square Cultural Center for Jerry Colen’s America’s Founding Fathers: Creating the Framework for America’s Freedom and Identity. This lecture will focus on some of the key Americans who led the American Revolution against the British and established the United States of America. Leaders like John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were instrumental in crafting the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution – the critical framework for America’s freedom and unique identity.
